Remedial Massage is an effective way to prevent and treat muscle injuries, pain and soreness because soft tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) all respond well to touch.
Muscles move and stabilise our joints so minor problems with these functions can cause pain. Often we feel pain which is referred from a different area of the body than that in which it is felt.
We have a tendency to use our body differently if we are in pain, therefore our overall posture is altered as we strive to avoid the sensation.
Pain is an invaluable signal informing us that something is wrong and needs attention.
I have attained in-depth study and qualifications in anatomy, physiology and pathology which will enable me to assess the source of your pain.
I will work with a range of mobility techniques including Myofascial Release by gently stretching your limbs to support your body to loosen and release.
I use a range of massage techniques to release the soft tissue and support the areas surrounding the pain or any other related issues in order to realign your body and improve your posture.
The treatment involves using massage techniques designed to treat both deep and superficial tissues, not dissimilar to those used in sports massage. Remedial Massage Therapy is beneficial to release the body and alleviate symptoms of repetitive strain injury.
A supple muscle is less likely to be damaged under strain.
If you experience any pain or some of the symptoms above then Remedial Massage may be for you. You can find out further information or book a session to discuss your unique circumstances and plan your tailored treatment by contacting me directly.
